"It could go better, but I get by/along..."

NOTE:

"Si va/tira avanti" is an impersonal form.

"I get by/along" = "(Io) vado/tiro avanti"

A better sentence would be, "Potrebbe andare meglio, ma vado avanti." o "Potrebbe andare meglio, ma tiro avanti." giusto?

p.s. "avanti" also means to "come in" or "enter" giusto?

Salvatore Saja answered 13 Oct 11

All correct, but, personally, I prefer the impersonal form.

Yes, "Avanti" also means "Come in".

"Entrare" means "Enter".

BUT

"He enters the room" > "(Egli/Lui) entra NELLA stanza"

Ohh ok like if I was to way to another person that is at my door "please enter" would I say to that person, "tu entri?"

I'd say:

"Accomodati" [ Informal - Singular ]

or

"Si accomodi" [ Formal - Singular ]

Literally, "Accomodarsi" means "To take a seat".
