"Come va?" is informal, but can be used formally too, in some cases.
"Va bene" is correct, but we usually add "Tutto". Moreover, "Va" can be omitted.

Typical answers to "Come va?" are:

- (Va) (tutto) bene.
[ "(everything) (is going) right" / (It's) (all) right ]

or

- (Tutto) a posto.
[ "(All) OK" ]

or

- Non mi lamento
[ "I don't complain" ]

or

- Non mi posso lamentare
[ "I can't complain" ]

or

- Non posso lamentarmi
[ "I can't complain" ]

grazie :) Can you also tell me is "come va" formal to answer would I use "va bene" I think I know how to use "va bene" but I need some reassurance. It means "ok" but from what I have been reading it can also be used to answer someone if they ask you how you are. Is this correct?
