Children can be translated in two ways:

[ "Children" indicating non-adults ]

Bambini [ Masculine or mixed gender - Plural ]
Bambine [ Feminine - Plural ]

OR

[ "Children" indicating sons and daughters ]

Figli [ Masculine or mixed gender - Plural ]
Figlie [ Feminine - Plural ]

Just say:

"È mio fratello"

The personal pronoun isn't necessary.
Moreover, you cannot put two articles next to possessive adjectives...
Nor you can put one article next to possessive adjectives, if you refer to relatives.
The article can be used in a variant of this sentence:

"È il mio fratellone"
[ He's my big brother - Mostly used by non-adults ]

---

Just to be clearer:

- Relatives?

[ NO ]
Article on the left of the personal pronoun

[ YES ]
NO article

[ YES - Augmented word ]
Article on the left of the personal pronoun

---

If the object of your sentence is "casa", you can write it in two ways:

"È la mia casa"
"È casa mia"
[ It's my house ]

It's ok ho capito... :) I have another question. When saying "He is my brother." Do I have to use the article before the word brother. Lui è la mia il fratello or Lui è la mia fratello.

I meant "possessive adjectives", where I put "personal pronoun".

Today I'm a bit tired... :(
